~** Green Trim Hemp Hat **~

These lovely crochet hats are made from eco friendly sustainable hemp – and they’re gorgeous too! The hemp yarn is doubled  for a marbled effect and crocheted into a gorgeous hat. The wavy brim is wired so that you can adjust the hat brim as you like for optimum sun protection. The green scalloped edging on the brim adds a little fun decorative detail.

One Size. Will stretch to accommodate a wide range of sizes, please contact us here for fitting advice

Please note that each hat is unique and the colours do vary, so your hat may be a little different from the pictures 🙂

These gorgeous hats are super popular at festivals – and you can see why! Easy to wear, and they can be scrunched up into a pocket or handbag when the sun goes down (or behind the clouds, this is the UK after all!) The crochet style means that although substantial the hats are breathable and keep your head nice and cool.

The hemp is course in texture, this is normal for such a raw fibre, but will soften over time with wear and washing. Hemp is more eco-friendly than cotton as it takes less resources, saves water and has a much higher yield!

100% Hemp, wire and cotton thread. Suitable for Vegans

Hemp Flower Hat– Knitting/Crocheting in Nepal

Often employment can be difficult to maintain for many women in Nepal, who need to balance work with managing their homes and looking after not only their children, but also older and extended family members. Knitting/Crochet is a great way for them to continue to earn whilst also being flexible. Hand knitted items can be picked up and put down. Knitting is also a great way for women to socialize in their communities as they sit and knit. This means that they can take on as little or as much work as they feel able to do, and can supplement their family income in an empowering way that compliments their lifestyle. Knitting can also be done without the use of electricity or any additional equipment so can be done all year round – Nepal suffers from electricity shortages in the colder months. By buying items knitted in Nepal we are empowering women to become self supporting and to improve their lives.
