Nepalese Hand Printed Patchwork Harem Trousers

These patchwork harem pants, sometimes known as ali babas or Afghani trousers, are made using off-cuts of fabric that would otherwise go to waste. Made from hard wearing cotton they are perfect for the changing seasons, breathable and cool but thick enough to keep you warm when the temperature drops. With an elasticated waist and drawstring they can be adjusted to fit you perfectly, with lots of room in the leg with the dropped crotch. There are pockets at the waist. Each pair of trousers features a unique combination on random patchwork, with patterned and/or plain patches which are stonewashed to bring the fabrics together. The patches are hand printed using wooden blocks which is a traditional Nepali craft and technique. Perfect for dance, yoga, pilates and other activities and well as being perfect for lazy days in bed or on the sofa!

These classic all season Nepalese Hand Printed Patchwork Harem Trousers are made using off-cuts of fabric that would otherwise go to waste. Our suppliers have lots of fabric off-cuts from other products. They spend time sewing these into patchwork when they do not have other garments to make, ensuring that all their employees have work even in quiet periods, and no usable material is wasted! We love this unique fabric and have designed a whole range of garments using the various types.  All the patchwork is random and totally unique, so we use a natural stone-wash overdye to bring it all together, resulting in each garment being beautiful and completely one of a kind. These patchwork harem trousers are good for the environment as well as the skilled workers who made it!

Each pair of patchwork harem trousers uses a random mixture of plain and/or patterned and overdyed cotton pieces, block prints and colours therefore will be different from the trousers pictured. Machine wash on Cold Gentle or Delicates cycle or Hand wash in cold water. Do not tumble dry. Natural dyes may run for the first few washes, wash dark colours separately.
